ISO-K Connections with clamps
ISO-F with Screws and Nuts
ISO-K and ISO-F joint with bolt- ring, screws and nuts
ISO-K with bottom clamp
ISO-K components from Trinos Vacuum Systems Inc. are manufactured in accordance with DIN 28 404 and ISO 1609 and in standard sizes of DN 63 to DN 630, and are compatible with the products of other well-known manufacturers. All components are helium leak tested and offer leak rates better than 10-9 mbar × l / s.

In the case of ISO flange joints there are two different types, the clamped flange ISO-K and the fixed bolted flange ISO-F. The ISO-K type is equipped on its outer circumference and on the back side with one groove each. On the back side this groove serves the purpose of joining two clamped flanges in any orientation with respect to each other using a set of clamping screws (Fig. 1). The groove at the circumference may be used to fit a circlip and a collar ring flange so as to make the clamped flange compatible with a fixed bolted flange.
The ISO-F type is equipped with a graduated circle of holes whereby the number of holes and their arrangement depends, as for the collar ring flange, on the nominal width in each case. Two ISO-F flanges (Fig. 2) are joined just like joining an ISO-F and ISO-K with a collar ring flange (Fig. 3) by means of bolts and nuts. Alternatively an ISO-F can be fitted with bolts and an ISO-K with claws (Fig.4) to a base panel. An O-Ring gasket is located between the flanges which is positioned and supported by an inner centering ring. This O-ring should be additionally secured by an outer ring. An adapter allowing a transition to small flanges (KF) can be easily implemented.

An ISO-K joint is suited for pressures ranging from 2.5 bar to 10-7 mbar. With metal gaskets the pressure range can be extended to 10-9 mbar. The maximum operating temperature of the joint will chiefly depend on the type of sealing material used. Information on this as well as information relating to chemical resistance are provided in the Materials section of this catalog.

The recommended number of clamping screws for an ISO-K joint, the bolts for the ISO-F joint and the claws for joining an ISO-K flange to a base panel or a fixed bolted flange are given in the following table for each nominal width.

Size Clamping Screws Qty x Screw Type Qty x Clamp Type
63 4 4 x M8 x 40 4 x M8 x 35
80 4 8 x M8 x 40 8 x M8 x 35

The majority of ISO-K components are made from corrosion resistant stainless steel. Minimization of the active surface area is achieved by blasting with glass beads as well as electro- or manual polishing processes, all of which ensure a low degassing rate (desorption) of the material.
